Pitney
Bowes Unveils D3 Advantage
D3 Advantage is an Easily Configurable
Digital Document Delivery Application
STAMFORD,
Conn., September 24, 2002 -- Pitney Bowes Inc., (NYSE:
PBI), a leading provider of global integrated mail and document
management solutions, launches today D3 Advantage, the newest
addition to the company's line of digital document delivery
software. The new solution helps businesses decrease the total
cost of ownership of digital document presentment, an issue
that has slowed the growth of the electronic distribution
of bills, invoices and statements, by allowing implementers
to modify existing functionality without violating the integrity
of the core product.
"D3 Advantage
is a digital presentment solution with the features and functionality
to handle the essential core requirements of digital delivery,"
said Karl Schumacher, president of Pitney Bowes. "It was architected
to be more easily customized and integrated within the customers
environment. For example, a new module with a graphical user
interface called WorkBench helps authorized users configure
an EBPP presentment site on their desktop browser."
Cost/benefit
analysis by noted industry analysts has drawn a direct correlation
between the knowledge of multiple, complex legacy billing
systems and the likelihood of completing integration projects
on time and on budget, which is a major factor in determining
the return on investment the technology delivers to the enterprise.
"Pitney
Bowes approaches the digital presentment market from a document
lifecycle management perspective with best of breed technology,
unsurpassed expertise with print streams, top notch professional
services capabilities and a solid grounding in the legacy
print world," said Karl Schumacher. "Our solutions help customers
with eCommerce integrations that raise digital presentment
above simple, one-dimensional transaction solution."
With two
million business customers representing every vertical industry
in 130 countries, Pitney Bowes offers well-established capabilities
upon which to build a vertically- focused digital presentment
business. For example, Pitney Bowes has long deployed large-scale
transaction-based secure systems for some of the largest providers
of healthcare insurance, providing communication solutions
that reduce costs, increase revenue and ensure regulatory
compliance.
D3 Advantage
Healthcare offers presentment of Explanation of Benefits (EOB)
in alignment with HIPAA regulations for companies seeking
to securely enhance their employee relationship management
capabilities related to group health insurance.
"Pitney
Bowes' EPP strategy is steady and methodical, no different
from that of its postage meter business, which was founded
in 1920," said Albert Pang of IDC. "As companies around the
world are slowly switching the delivery of bills and statements
to an electronic format, Pitney Bowes will guide them along
the way."
Pitney
Bowes Inc. is a $4.1 billion global provider of integrated
mail, messaging and document management solutions headquartered
in Stamford, Connecticut. Pitney Bowes is the company's global
provider of premier solutions for the creation and distribution
of efficient and effective documents in paper and digital
