Pitney Bowes docSense Releases
Mailer's Choice Presort
Optimization Software

Danbury, CT -- Pitney Bowes docSense, the leading provider of document management solutions, has released Mailer's Choice 7.30 software that supports all Rate Case and non-Rate Case requirements for the June 30, 2002 Rate Case. Mailer's Choice selects, processes and prepares a mailing in optimum sequence for all major classes of mail, ensuring compliance with USPS regulations and optimizing postage discounts, raises the productivity of mailing operations, and increases cash flow.

"Mailer's Choice integrates seamlessly into existing mailing operations, allowing companies to take advantage of its many benefits, including the elimination of manual processes and labor costs often associated with mail preparation and the reduction of costly mailing failures such as USPS mail rejection, delayed delivery and misrouted mail," said Karl Schumacher, president of Pitney Bowes docSense. "Pitney Bowes docSense provides corporations with a flexible document output strategy to enhance productivity and their ability to communicate with customers."

Mailer's Choice offers many benefits for postal customers who wish to presort their mail:

  • Mailer's Choice provides postal presort savings and expedites mail delivery. This helps improve cash flow, speed marketing campaigns, boost productivity and maintain timely customer communications.
  • Mailer's Choice puts presort and mail delivery into the hands of the customer. The software provides the mailer with complete control presort savings by allowing dynamic splits within a single mailing. Mailer's Choice can presort, tag and package mail, as well as generate data and reports needed to plan and prepare the mail for USPS handling.
  • Significant cost savings can be achieved by in-house presorting vs. outsourced presorting. Additionally, the schedule for when the mail is entered in the mail stream is in the hands of the mailer, not the postal outsourcer. Additionally, Mailer's Choice allows the mailer to maintain security of the mail since it's presorted in-house, protecting valuable customer information databases.
  • Mailer's Choice is a flexible solution that seamlessly fits in with existing mail operations and computing platforms because it's offered on mainframe, UNIX and Windows.

For postal customers to comply with the new USPS Rate Case, Mailer's Choice 7.30 General Availability must be used to process mail that will be dropped on or after June 30, 2002. Mailer's Choice version 7.30 GA cannot be used for any mail that will be sent prior to the Rate Case, effective June 30, 2002.

The online documentation includes Online Help Files, including the Implementation Guide, a complete copy of the Mailer's Choice User Guide and Implementation Guide in Adobe® Acrobat® Portable Document Format (PDF) and an ASREADME FILE More information on Mailer's Choice can be obtained at 877-5-docsense or by visiting http://docsense.pb.com.
